Abortion

     Abortion is a worldwide issue where a woman removes a fetus inside of her to end her pregnancy. Should women have the right to abort a fetus inside of them? About 205 million pregnancies occur each year worldwide, over one third are unintended and about one fifth end in induced abortions. Some say abortions should be legal all around the world because it should be a woman's right to do whatever she wants with her body. Others argue that abortion is a form of murder and should be illegal everywhere, then there are the people who believe that only in "hard cases" should abortion be legal. In Countries such as Egypt, Iran, Ireland and more, abortion is completely illegal whereas in Canada, the United States (and more) abortion is legal in most parts.I believe that the only time a woman should get an abortion is if it is to save her life.

       Green: Abortion is never legal,or legal only when necessary to save the life of the mother or protect her      physical health

Yellow:Abortion legal in ‘hard cases’, such as rape, incest, and/or deformed child

Red:Abortion legal for social reasons (e.g mother says she can’t afford the child) or to protect the mother’s “mental health”

Purple:Abortion legal at any time during pregnancy for any reasons    

      Issues with abortion have been ongoing since women started getting them. Earliest known evidence of abortions date back to 1550 BCE on ancient egyptian papyrus's. The deliberate termination of a pregnancy has been practiced in almost every era of history and in every culture in the world. U.S.A didn't prohibit abortion until the 19th century, by 1880 abortions were illegal in the U.S.A unless it was necessary to save the life of the woman. There were many different views on abortion back then and there are still some very opposing views today.

        

           As you already know I do not support abortions unless it is to save a woman's life. Some will argue that a woman can do what she wishes with her body and that the baby isn't born yet and it is not considered murdering the fetus.Others may argue that the woman is too young to care for a baby or that it was an accidental pregnancy.If women get raped or get pregnant from incest get abortions some people support them and others believe they have other options such as adoption or giving it to another relative. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and it can always change, with the upcoming federal election and the Republican party considering making abortion illegal could end up changing a lot of people's views.

          In my opinion I believe that the only time a woman should be allowed to abort her fetus is only when it is to save her life. If  people aren't ready to have a child they should use any type of birth control. In cases of rape and incest I believe that they can always put the baby up for adoption and give a family a child. If a woman aborts her fetus she may regret it in the future and abortions can cause many health problems such as infections, bleeding, etc.People know how to prevent pregnancies and if they are not ready to have a baby then why take the risk?

          We can go back and forth but it is apparent that abortion is a very controversial subject. There are many different viewpoints on abortion and it has bee going on for many years. We can make arguments no matter what side our viewpoint is on. I have a very strong viewpoint and that is that women should keep their fetus unless their life is in danger.
