Cloning is a scientific method in which the an organism passes down the exact same genetic material (DNA) to the same type organism making a “clone” of the organism. Many people believe cloning is bad because we do not know the effects that it has on people, it has 80% chance that the organism will not survive birth, live a normal time span, and religious reasons affect decisions greatly. People do not realize the benefits that cloning has on modern science. Cloning helps patients with organ issues who can not find any donors, allows endangered species to live on, and cloning helps burn victims look like themselves again.

  Seventeen people die every day in the United States with organ problems that can’t find any organ transplants in time. Cloning can help these people because it can collect DNA from the patient, take away the defective genes, then clone the organs cells and save the patients life. The organ would be a clone the previous organ so the organ would have no defects and there would be no risk for the patient.

  Humans have been endangering and even killing species for 10,000 years and many wonder if we could bring back the species that we made disappear reappear. In 2009 scientist's attempted to bring back a Pyrenean ibex (similar to a mountain goat) back to this world. They put the embryo in a surrogate mother (a mix between a goat and a Pyrenean), unfortunately the baby was only alive for a few seconds then died because of lung abnormalities. Science has learnt a lot from this and is trying to fix all the defaults. If we bring back extinct or endangered animals then we can fix what we did wrong.

  Every year around 2 million people in america suffer major burns and about 12 000 die from it. Cloning can turn the burn patients that survive back to normal by cloning their skin cells then replacing the old ones with the new ones. If the burn victims feel self conscious about their appearance after the burn and if they get their skin cells replaced then they will feel good again about themselves.

  Some people don't realize how cloning is a global issue but cloning saves lives, brings back lives, and helps people live their lives. There may be some negative qualities but the positive qualities rule the negative qualities by far.
