Women in the world today, still face gender based challenges in their country. In some Taliban controlled areas in the world, women are not permitted to work and in the United States, Women are not allowed to work in some fields. In Taliban controlled areas, women have very strict rules they must follow. The Taliban enforces these rules to "secure environments where the chasteness and dignity of women may once again be sacrosanct."The Taliban still has many rules towards women in force today. There should not be restrictions on women because the rules are unfair, men should not choose what the women do and women should be aloud to work wherever they want.
The rules the Taliban created are unfair to women. Some of the rules include:
1)All females must have a male guardian. Women may need their guardian's permission for marriage, travel, education etc.
2) Women must cover their hair and most of their body when men they are not related to. Women in most of Saudi Arabia must wear the hijab (head covering), and full black cloak called an abaya.
3)Women in Saudi Arabia are not aloud to drive.
4) There is a complete ban on women's work outside the home, which also applies to female teachers, engineers and most professionals.
5) Females over the age of 8 are not allowed and education.
Many of the rules that Taliban practiced were rules created and practiced by Rabbani-Massoud government after they came to power in 1992, but were not really well known. The Taliban is created of just men and highly enforce these rules. If a women happens to break these rules, they can be whipped or executed. The Taliban practice these rules because its part of their religion to believe that men are more dominate then women. The rules the Taliban follow are just unfair to women. Women should wear what they want to wear and be seen with whoever they wish and not be scared of getting beaten if they break the rules. Females should also be able to get an education because everyone needs to learn. These rules are very harsh and unfair to women in Taliban controlled areas.
The Taliban consists of men. They choose rules that the people of there countries must follow and if the people do not follow the rules, punishments can be made. Society still believes that men have more dominance than women. This especially the case in Taliban countries. The Taliban are strong believers in the Islamic laws. The Laws make it clear that men are "the managers" of women and that they control them. It also states men are aloud to beat their disobedient wives. I believe this is unfair to women. Men should not control the women just because they are men. They should all be treated equally because they are both human.
Women are not aloud to get jobs in certain fields. In the United States, women are not permitted to work in military submarine combat missions. This is the case in lots of countries. The reasoning behind restricting women from combat in various nations is to protect female soldiers from possible sexual assault by enemy soldiers to destabilizing fraternization between women and men in intense combat settings. In Taliban areas, women are not even aloud to work. If women wish to serve in the military, they should be able to. Women can be just as strong and intelligent as men. They should have the same opportunities as men do.
Women should not have restrictions because they are women. They should not have different rules, there life should not be decided by men and they should be able to work wherever they wish. The rules the Taliban practice are harsh to women and the punishments can be life threatening. Men and society should not see men more dominate to women. They are both humans. Women should be able to work in any field they choose to if they can handle the job. Society has to stop have these harsh restrictions on women and let them do what they wish. Restrictions on women have to stop.
